I’m a photographer working in Naarm (Melbourne), and my career has always followed an unpredictable path.
After leaving the Navy in 1988, I stumbled into the beat press, where I cut my teeth capturing raw, unvarnished stories. Since then, I’ve worked across film, magazines, advertising, and corporate projects, always driven by a fascination with the human element in every frame.
My work has been recognised along the way, most notably through the prestigious Gary Award. I also hold a BA in Photography from RMIT, but the real lessons have come from the unpredictable moments I’ve lived and documented.
Photography is about finding truth in the chaos - capturing the beauty, mess, and contradictions that make us human.
... it's in this vein that this site finds itself - a mess and contradictions.
Get lost in it.
*I've been playing around with words on the site - it's a combination of appeasing the SEO Gods without the earnestness. Still, it may come off as a tad 'try hard' - to which I say, 'fuck you, I'm a photographer not a writer'.
